Medicine Ball Circuit and Pumpkin Cookies

Hey y'all!!! Fall is so officially here. It's getting colder out and I am so freakin excited. Fall is my favorite season, football, baseball playoffs, I get to wear my boots, baking...hence the pumpkin cookies. :)

All that is great, but the baked goods can take a toll if you're not careful. SO, I'm giving you a workout along with the cookie recipe.

The Medicine Ball Circuit. I did this yesterday and it was pretty intense. I've never really had sweat drip into my eyes before...or inhaled sweat into my nose... that was interesting and gross.

Anyways! All you need for this workout is a medicine ball, kinda like the one I got at Goodwill a few weeks ago.

Gotta love a workout that's light on equipment, right?? :D
Your moves: thruster, russian twists, burpee jacks, uneven push-ups (from your knees or toes), and pass-through lunges.

Here's a video showing you all the different moves...aaaand here's the link in case the embed doesn't work.

My heart rate monitor conked out for a bit during this workout, but from what I can estimate... I was averaging about 165 bpm for the entire 35 minutes it took me to complete. That's including a couple water-breaks. Make sure you're drinking water and take breaks if you need them!

I've started moving more toward cardio-based workouts because of that 12-week challenge I'm participating in. I'm finding the diet easier to deal with as the days go by. It's been a while since I've dieted to go down in weight and I've never dieted specifically to lose fat before. It's been a challenge, but I've been up to it so far!

Here's what my plates have been looking like the past few days, I've been putting them up on Instagram with the hashtag #fitgaldailydigest

Finding ways to satisfy my sweet tooth (and my salt tooth for that matter) has been challenging. I came up with these cookies today and they fit into my plan really well!!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies (12 cookies)

Seriously, how gorg are these?

1 C (cooled) cooked quinoa
2 T oat flour
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Optimum Nutrition Vanilla Casein)
1/2 C Libby's Pure Pumpkin
1 large egg
4 tsp honey
75 g (5 servings) semi-sweet chocolate chips (I didn't measure these out in tablespoons or cups, sorry!)

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and form into 12 equal sized lumps on a greased or lined cookie sheet.
Bake at 350ºF for 20 min.
Let cool at least 10 min before enjoying.

Nutritional Information per cookie (I got this by entering the ingredients in MyFitnessPal)
78 calories, 11.2g carbs, 2.7g fat, 4g protein

I'm about to go back for a second cookie. :) #IIFYM

Let me know what you think of the cookies or the workout below!
